In no particular order, this is what some Nigerian men say they
expect of their wives… 1. Slim down. Don’t let people take you for my mother when,
indeed, you are my wife. I love to see you exercise and eat less.
2. Don’t disrespect me. I want to feel respected even with my
imperfections. Correct me with respect.
3. Don’t always claim your right. Be quick to say, “I am sorry.”
4. Don’t delay me when we have to go out together. Start getting
ready well ahead of time and don’t ever keep me waiting.
5. I love good food. If you have to attend catering school to
make me eat well, please do.
6. I hate nagging. When you make your request, believe in me to
do it in my own time. No amount of nagging can change me.
7. Don’t belittle or gossip about me to anyone. If there are
issues that need be to addressed, find a quiet time when we can talk, just the
two of us; not necessarily in the middle of the night when you’re most likely
going to disturb my sleep.
8. Don’t prioritise anyone over me. Make me your number one —
not your pastor, the children, your friends or your family.
9. Yes, I love sex! Don’t withhold it. And don’t ever use it as
a bargaining chip.
10. Stop acting like my mother.
11. I can be jealous. Don’t get too close to the opposite sex on
social media. Seek my consent before accepting a male as friend.
12. Don’t paint me bad before my children. Rather, help them to
love and appreciate me.
13. Accept and relate well with my family members.
14. Assist me in paying the bills, if you earn well.
15. Don’t pry too much into my affairs by reading my mail or
responding to my messages without my consent.
16. Stop snooping and stalking me on social media. Stop being
suspicious of my female colleagues.
17. Stop answering my calls without my permission.
18. Smile always, even when you are exhausted from tending the
kids. Frowning all the time will scare me.
19. Stop asking to know how I spend every dime. Just trust me
and all will be well.
Former
governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu said he joined the All
Progressives Congress (APC) because President Muhammadu Buhari has
started fulfilling the promises he made to him in the area of
development of the South East.
The
business magnate said in his country home in Igbere, Abia State when
hundreds of Igbo youths from across the zone paid him a visit, that when
President Buhari assured him that work would start on federal roads in
the East before the end of November, he had pledged to join APC if lived
up to his words.
He
said with the ongoing rehabilitation work on federal roads in the South
East, it became imperative for him (Kalu) to redeem his own pledge,
hence, he joined the APC few weeks ago.
Kalu
assured the youths that what he did was in the interest of Igbo, as the
South easterners need to be at the centre where national issues are
discussed and dividends of democracy shared.
“We
cannot continue to isolate ourselves while turning around to complain
of not being remembered or carried along,” Kalu told the youths.
He
emphasised that people make political parties what they are, insisting
that if Igbo joined the APC en masse, they could equally take hold of
the party.
Kalu
said the interest of the Igbo comes first before his personal ambition,
saying he would continue to contribute his quota towards building the
APC in the South East.
Meanwhile,
Kalu’s movement to the ruling party is generating interest in the South
East, as several political, religious and socio-political groups are
trying to align with the former governor. Also, old politicians and
professionals have started meeting with Kalu, with a view to joining the
APC.
It was gathered that Kalu may have convinced one of the biggest legal icons in the country, Chris Uche (SAN), to join APC.
Sources
revealed that the legal luminary visited Kalu in Igbere, where the duo
discussed the possibility of the lawyer joining the APC. It was gathered that barring any change of plan, Uche might join the APC next month.Former

The story about how a 7 year old was lynched in lagos over garri
theft has been trending.
It didn't sit well with me cos 7 years old? How
can anyone have the heart to do such? Garri ke? Wasn't it obvious he
was hungry? Has it gotten this bad?
I too was of the opinion that
no matter what he has done.
But hmmm...it's easy to say if you haven't
been a victim of their havoc.
Eye witnesses and victims are now speaking out about the activities of these boys at that particular bustop. Many have lost their lives to these "petty thieves". They just stab you
(usually in the neck) rob you off your valuables without negotiation.
This "7 year old Garri thief" stabbed a woman this morning to rob her
and he is NOT 7 but 17. Unfortunately for him he got caught...that's
what happened! I just saw the video, very sad! Jungle justice is
backward and barbaric.
It's so sad cos he is young but make no mistakes they have recruited
most of them less than 16 years old in lagos. That's what's up now.
..Lagos has serious security issues.

Democrat would need to hope electoral college electors ignored voters’ wishes and picked her instead of Trump
FOR die-hard
Democrats holding out hope that they won’t have to live through a
Donald Trump presidency, there is a last, incredibly long shot for them
latch on to — a surprise twist in the Electoral College, the New York Post reports.
Though Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 200,000, Trump
has won the minimum of 270 electoral votes necessary to be elected
president. As of late Wednesday, he had 290 to Clinton’s 228.
Hillary Clinton still has one glimmer of hope to become the next President of the USA according to the New York Post

According to the Constitution, chosen
electors of the Electoral College are the real people who will vote for
president, when they meet on Dec. 19 in their respective state capitals.
However, there is technically nothing
stopping any of the electors from voting their conscience and refusing
to support the candidate to whom they were bound, or from abstaining
from voting altogether.
There’s even a name for it: becoming a “faithless elector.”
Well over 99 percent of electors
throughout American history have voted as pledged, according to an
analysis done by the New York Times.
It does happen, though.
The last faithless elector reared his
roguish head back in 2004, when a lone anonymous voter in Minnesota
declined to vote for Democrat John Kerry and instead voted for Kerry’s
running mate, John Edwards.
The Democrat would need electoral college electors to ignore voters’ wishes and instead vote for her
New US President Donald Trump addresses ecstatic supporters in NY
The rogue’s vote was purely ceremonial, as Bush already had 286 electoral votes, more than enough to ensure his reelection.
Faithless electors are technically
barred in only 29 states from ignoring the will of the voters, though
the penalties are light. And a faithless elector has never swung an
election.
But given the high dissatisfaction with Trump among Republicans, a few faithless GOP electors could well go rogue next month.
One Texas GOP elector, Chris Suprun of
Texas, a firefighter, told Politico in August that he finds Trump so
unpalatable he’d consider voting for Clinton when he gets to Georgia’s
capital on Dec. 19th.
Baoky Vu, a Decatur businessman, told
the Atlanta-based news site AJC.com in August that he couldn’t stomach
voting for Trump either, and was quietly convinced by local GOP leaders
to resign as an elector.
Clinton would need more than 20 GOP electors to go rogue and vote instead for her — a mighty tall order.
That could see Donald Trump’s narrow win overturned if key states swung towards Clinton
President Obama reflects on shock Donald Trump win
Even then, the new,
Republican-controlled Congress meets Jan. 6 to approve the electoral
college vote, and would certainly vote to void any roguery, handing the
victory firmly back to Trump.
The Founding Fathers created the electoral college because the were “afraid of direct Democracy,” according to FactCheck.org.
In fact, Alexander Hamilton thought the
electors would make sure “the office of President will never fall to
the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the
requisite qualifications.”
It remains to be seen, given Tuesday’s
surprise election result, whether Democrats — and even some Republicans —
who question the “requisite qualifications” of president-elect Donald
Trump will push to revisit the Electoral College system.
