Gaza was bombarded by Israeli fire on Sunday

Gaza was attacked by Israeli forces on Sunday, with dozens of strikes by air and land. Four Palestinians were injured, including a 17-year-old boy.

On this date, two years ago, Israel had killed over 2,000 Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip in a brutal military assault. By the time it ended, more than 2,200 Palestinians and 73 Israelis had lost their lives.

Yet Israel's attacks on Gaza never really ended, with near-daily breaches of the 2014 ceasefire, including frequent military incursions, and attacks on fishermen and farmers in the Israeli-enforced "buffer zone".

Since the 2014 assault, almost nothing has been reconstructed, with most of the 100,000 people made homeless still displaced. Israel's blockade prevents the materials people need to rebuild their homes from entering Gaza.
Marking the anniversary of the assault, PSC has released testimonies from Palestinians living in Gaza. Their moving stories are available to read now

“This is Gaza, the Gaza that no words can describe, the Gaza that no language, even Arabic, can provide a simple description for, since only with the flooding of blood does the world locate Gaza on the map." - Ahmad, 25.
